My Food-osophy

I am an explorer of food! Cooking and eating are two of life's most delightful necessities and there are new trends everywhere...raw food diets, no carbs, low-cal, gluten-free....whew! So, I am trying to incorporate some new habits into my lifestyle, and although I try to eat responsibly, changing my family's diet is not an easy task. That's why amongst the blogs about ayurveda, vegetarianism and raw food diets you will definitely find some sinfully decadent, downhome favorites. If you are going to indulge, at least enjoy every bite! No guilt on this blog. Follow me through some adventures from my fridge, our local farmer's market and some fun, new restaurants. I'll give you the inside scoop on all of the most delicious dishes!!

SUPERFOODS

Protein – salmon, omega 3 eggs, greek yogurt, soy yogurt, black beans, tempeh, kidney beans, low fat cottage cheese (lactose free if you can find it), chicken breasts, turkey breasts

Veggies and Fruits – spinach, tomatoes, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, oranges, mixed berries, lettuce, bananas, grapefruits, cucumbers, kale, collards, blueberries

Other Carbs – mixed beans, quinoa, whole oats

Good Fats – mixed nuts, avocados, extra virgin olive oil, fish oil, flax seeds (ground), coconut milk,

Drinks – green tea, almond milk, greens supplement
